"Freedom Fighters" Booklet

For the 60th anniversary of the Hungarian Revolution of 1956, Lauer Learning worked with Piroska Nagy to create an educational booklet to teach kids about the Revolution. Both co-authors are the children of 1956-ers. Andrea has had extensive experience in creating and utilizing educational booklets to teach children about culture and history. Piroska has worked for many years as a teacher at the International School in Budapest, Hungary, and had some great ideas on how to provide context for this period in history.

Like the “Magyars in America” booklet, also available on this site, this booklet teaches through educational games, activities and photos. It is available to download and print for free.
